Ingredients:
- Gourmet Natureta Baby Okra
- 1 large onion (chopped)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tomatoes (grated or chopped)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt (optional)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup of water (if needed)

Instructions:
-
Sauté the Onions: Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté them until they soften and become slightly golden, about 5 minutes.
-
Add the Tomatoes: Add the grated or chopped tomatoes to the pot. Continue cooking for 5-7 minutes until the tomatoes release their juices and soften.
-
Add the Okra: Drain the canned okra and add it to the pot. If the okra is large, you can make a small incision in the middle. Stir the okra gently.
-
Season: Add salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and sugar to the okra. The sugar helps balance the acidity of the okra. Mix well so that the okra is coated with the seasonings.
-
Cook: Add water and stir. Cover the pot and cook on low heat for about 20-25 minutes. The okra will become tender and fully cooked.
-
Serve: Check the liquid level of the dish. If there’s too much liquid, let it cook for a few more minutes. Serve hot.
Bon apetit!
